how long will it take to improve my credit score?
i have a few things in collections, and i declared bankruptcy within the last year .. but i want to start trying to improve my credit score.. will i see good results in 6 months? or will this take longer?

when this happens, you have to get everything in order. you declared bankruptcy so this is your starting over point. the things you have in collections need to be paid off. the next step would be paying your complete credit balance every month. you can see an improvement in the next 6 months if you start right now. it depends on the collection situation. it may take up to a year but you have to work hard at this. talk to a financial advisor.

Since you declared bankruptcy within the past year, you will not see any improvement in your credit for about 7 years. Rough start, but that’s the price of filing.

Get all the things with collections taken care of, then start with a credit card that you PAY OFF each and every month, if you can get a credit card. It will take a few years, but you can do it.
