Credit repair. . Usually companies charge hundreds of dollars to simply pull your credit and send correctly worded dispute letters—this is the key…..people will tell you that you can do this yourself for free but the truth of the matter is that the credit bureaus will throw your letters away or simply reject them. There is an easy to use online kit that will deliver the results you want available for just $19.95 at the source website. A similar kit is being sold via infomercials and radio talk shows for seventy dollars more but they try to solicit you repeatedly for other services after the fact.

1st, the establishment reporting the negative information MUST AGREE to reverse the negative reporting. That’s important to understand up front.
Start with the establishment reporting the negative information, to see if they will send letters directly to all the bureaus. If they agree, you’re golden.
2nd, You do have to file a dispute with each bureau.
Dispute the information with as much as you have, or can think of. At the same time keep in contact with the establishment reporting, and continue pleading your case.
The next step is to set a time limit, after which you stop the nice routine, and go for the throat, by getting a 3rd party involved.
I was fortunate. The AG’S office in my state uses interns, from a local university. Their services are more accessible than the AG, and it’s free.
They wrote the creditor I was having problems with, and viola!
Nearly two years of fighting and waiting paid off. I received a copy of the nicely written letter sent to all 3 credit bureaus, informing them what a fine client I was, and the negative information was removed.
If you don’t have this partnership in your state, use the AG’S office directly.
So, don’t give up, but realize what you may be up against.
One word of caution. I had a similar situation, where one bureau cleared the negative information, but when I mentioned this to the bank I was dealing with, they placed the late report right back on all 3!

You do need to do a dispute with each, but including your paperwork from Equifax will speed it up.
