Do not send anything proving you paid it, unless you do want it to remain on your reports as a paid negative.
If you had paid it and it is still being reported with the balance then dispute it.
Say something like…I have no account for $xxxx.xx amount with
If you are lucky, whoever you paid will not bother to verify it since it had been paid.
If they don’t verify it, it will be removed.
If they do verify it, it should be updated to show that it had been paid.

Have you paid them all ? If not try to negotiate a deal to remove the negative records in exchange of a payment. It’s difficult, but it worked for me on one of the account, it was probably because the rep was friendly…if you leave those negative items it would take7 years to clean up.
You might want try this company.. I hired them back in 2005 and
they were extremely helpful and there was big improvement in my credit in less than a year..not 7 !!

It’s already settled. paying it doesn’t make it disappear – it will stay on your credit report for 7 yrs after you paid it off – it will show as closed or paid, but it doesn’t go away

it will stay on your credit report for 7 Years, just because you paid it doesn’t mean it goes away

Actually the Fair Credit Report Acts states the item can stay on your credit report for 7 years from the date of the last financial transactions. So if you had an item go into collection and charge off in June 2002 and you made a payment in May 2009 it would remain on your credit until June 2016 vs. it falling off in June 2009 if left unpaid.
In my experience if you dispute a paid item via the online process with the 3 national credit bureaus the collection company typically will not respond. This is not 100% all the time though.

Just because you paid it will not make it go away. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (Federal law) says that derogatory accounts show for 7-years fro the date of first delinquency weather paid or not.
