You dispute it with the credit reporting agency. It is up to then to reverify the claim. If they cannot then request that it be removed from your report.

Same answer without the fedora. Dispute letters need to be sent to all three of the major credit reporting agencies: Equifax, Transunion, and Experian. You will want to include information on the purchase of your account by the other company, the amount owed and paid. Another thing, have you inquired with the company approving your mortgage iregarding the impact that this one discrepancy would have on the loan?

also dispute in november….end of the year…busy during christmas…more of a chance it will be cleared.

Dispute the credit account with the credit bureau. The credit bureau will try to contact the credit card company and when they find out they do not exist anymore you should automatically win the dispute and the account will be removed.
