There are a number of websites that promise you free reports but read the fine print. You have to sign up for credit monitoring services if you don’t cancel… it’s a pain in the butt. The free service website will show them to you online immediately. You have to register with each of the 3 credit bureaus so write down the passwords you select. When you go onto freecreditreport.com your credit report will be shown to you immediately.
Not sure what you mean about your interest rate being higher this way. When you pull your credit it does show up but there are what they call soft pulls meaning just an inquiry that wasn’t intended for opening a credit account. You do a soft pull when you request your credit report.
